TOSAF
Production facility for flame retardants in Israel
A new, halogen-free flame retardant has been developed by Israeli materials specialist Tosaf (Afula; www.tosaf.com). The masterbatch is being marketed under the name, FR9185PE, and is said to be suitable for use in cross-linked and non-cross-linked polyethylene foams. The company sees sales opportunities primarily in the construction, logistics, and automotive sectors.

Tosaf has built a new production facility to manufacture the flame retardant in Gilboa in northern Israel. In response to a Plasteurope.com query, a company spokesperson put the capacity at around 25,000 t/y; they did not provide details on the amount of the investment.
