Composites firm YLA acquired for USD 32m
TenCate Advanced Composites USA, part of the aerospace and armour composites business of Royal TenCate (Almelo / The Netherlands; www.tencate.com), has acquired thermoset composites company YLA (Benicia, California / USA; www.ylainc.com) from speciality chemicals company Perstorp (Perstorp / Sweden; www.perstorp.com). The purchase price of USD 32m includes YLA subsidiary CCS Composites. YLA is involved in the development and manufacture of lightweight high performance advanced thermoset composites and the design and fabrication of component parts using the materials. The company has a turnover of around USD 24m and employs 65 people.
