In a move designed to strengthen its role as a leading supplier of injection moulded plastics packaging in the UK, the Danish group Superfos Packaging (Frydenlundsvej 30, DK-2950 Vedbaek) has acquired Thurgar Bolle Ltd (Telford Way, Kettering, GB-Northants NN16 8UY) from Heywood Williams Group PLC. Superfos already operates a plant in the UK at Runcorn, and according to Nigel Cole, UK md, it has been the UK's second largest producer of injection moulded containers for some years. With this latest acquisition it will be hoping to further increase its market share as Thurgar Bolle is a significant producer of injection moulded plastics packaging. Turnover in 1996 was approximately GBP 8m and it processes some 5,000 t of polymer, mainly PP and ABS, manufacturing containers (size range 1-25 l) as well as some technical components.
