Colourant and additive producer Sun Chemical (Parsippany, New Jersey, USA; www.sunchemical.com) announced it has expanded production capacity for its perylene pigments at its site in Ludwigshafen, Germany. The move adds up to 200 t of finished goods and intermediates to support rising global demand, the company said. The investment enhances supply security for customers in the coatings, plastics, and automotive sectors.

Sun Chemical said the expansion builds on its perylene pigment range, which includes red to violet and functional black grades. It added that Paliogen Red pigments, certified with Eco Passport by Oeko-Tex, are designed for durability, colour purity, and heat resistance. Spectrasense black pigments offer deep black shades alongside functional properties such as solar heat management and laser-welding capability.
