Belgian distributor Innochem (Meerhout; www.innochem.de), a subsidiary of German plastics and chemicals broker Stockmeier (Bielefeld; www.stockmeier.de), has acquired the business of Dutch speciality distributor XS Chemicals (Utrecht; www.xs-chemicals.com) for an undisclosed amount.

The Belgian distributor aims to reach European target markets through its latest purchase. Managing directors Jan Smeets and Dirk Seidel said, “With this acquisition, we are strategically expanding our portfolio for the polymerisation chemicals, printing inks, adhesives, and paints and coatings industries.”

Stockmeier Group companies offer distribution, production, and services for chemicals at over 50 locations and employ 1,800. It bought a majority stake in Innochem towards the end of 2020 (see Plasteurope.com of 11.12.2020).
