Colour and additive masterbatch manufacturer Silvergate Plastics (Wrexham / UK; www.silvergate.co.uk) has installed a new twin-screw, clamshell-design extrusion line at its masterbatch manufacturing facility in Wrexham, North Wales.
Sandy Bergeson, managing director of Silvergate Plastics, said the new extruder would offer a number of operational advantages, such as the speed with which it can be cleaned. “Having such ease of access to the inner workings of the extruder will ensure the line is kept in impeccable order, which is of paramount importance when processing products used in medical and food contact applications,” he added.
The new extruder’s installation coincides with Silvergate’s plans to extend its reach across Europe. The group said it was “actively looking for European agents and distributors who can proactively manage opportunities in mainland Europe.”
