LyondellBasell license for new LDPE/EVA swing plant in Xinjiang
The world’s largest coal company, Shenhua Group (Beijing / China; http://en.shenhuachina.com) has acquired another “Lupotech T” process technology license from LyondellBasell (Rotterdam / The Netherlands; www.lyondellbasell.com). The announcement for the new 270,000 t/y LDPE/EVA swing line, to be located in Xinjiang province, follows Shenhua’s acquisition of another “Lupotech” license for its LDPE/EVA swing plant in Yulin, Shaanxi province earlier this year – see Plasteurope.com of 29.02.2012.

The Chinese company recently touted plans for a large methanol-to-olefins (MTO) hub, including a huge PP line, in Urumqi, Xinjiang province – see Plasteurope.com of 21.11.2012. A look at Plasteurope.com’s Polyglobe capacity database (www.polyglobe.net) shows that the latter line will most likely be commissioned in 2015.
