After working together for many years, Semadeni Plastics (Ostermundigen / Switzerland; www.semadeni.com) has taken a financial stake in blow moulding specialist Biplast (Sitterdorf / Switzerland; www.biplast.ch). No information was disclosed regarding the level of the minority holding, which was acquired by way of a capital increase by Biplast. Patrick Semadeni will have a seat on the Biplast board of directors.

The two packaging companies aim to exploit "meaningful synergies" through enhanced cooperation and an intended transfer of know-how. At the same time, the product portfolio is to be expanded in order to boost the use of recycled plastics.

In order to emphasise their commitment to increasing and improving reycling in Switzerland, both manufacturers joined the Allianz Design for Recycling Plastics (Basel / Switzerland; www.design4recycling.org) in September 2018 – see Plasteurope.com of 01.10.2018.
