Acquisition of French medical device group / Establishment of centre of excellence
Saint-Gobain Life Sciences (Paris / France; www.lifesciences.saint-gobain.com) said it has acquired French medical device companies MS Techniques (Pompey; www.ms-techniques.com) and Transluminal (Pompey; www.transluminal.eu), which together form the MS Groupe, for an undisclosed sum.
MS Techniques and sister company Transluminal specialise in high-precision thermoplastic extrusion and design expertise for minimally invasive catheter solutions with a strong focus on the cardiovascular market.

Saint-Gobain said MS Techniques/Transluminal’ design and manufacturing capabilities will be complemented by its material knowledge, financial strength and global presence in the medical device market.
The acquired medical device group will be integrated within Saint-Gobain Life Sciences’ Medical Components business unit.
Saint-Gobain will also establish a “European Medical Centre for Excellence” at MS Techniques’ facility in Pompey.
