Polymer distributor Polydist UK (Burton on Trent; www.polydistuk.com) has taken over UK distribution of PC resin and compound grades in the Specialties portfolio of Saudi Arabian petrochemicals and plastics giant Sabic (Riyadh; www.sabic.com). Pertinent product lines include the high performance “Noryl” and “Ultem” (PPE and PEI) resins along with the “LNP” brand PA compounds and the copolymer and flame retardant grades of the resin brands “Lexan” (PC), “Cycoloy” (PC/ABS blends) and “Valox” (PBT).

Polydist and Sabic have worked together since 2015, when the UK distributor formerly known as Resin Trade was appointed to handle the Saudi group’s LDPE and LLDPE grades produced at Wilton / UK, Geleen / The Netherlands and Gelsenkirchen / Germany. For the engineering resins, Polydist said it will hold an extensive local inventory and will be able to offer small-scale sampling for product development, prototyping and part testing needs, with samples available for delivery in a shortened lead-time.
