Extended HDPE portfolio with new low-sagging grade for large pipes
Sabic (Riyadh / Saudi Arabia; www.sabic.com) has unveiled its new portfolio of high-performance, low-sagging HDPE pipe grades. Their main application lies with the production of large-diameter thick-walled pipes with improved dimensional stability.

Pipes with large diameters are useful when transporting high quantities of liquids. Industries of scale especially gain from these pipes, in applications such as desalination plants, sea outfall lines and infrastructural pipes in large cities.

This is also where Sabic’s new grade, HDPE "P6006LS" comes into play. Classified as PE112, it uses multi-reactor technology in order to achieve good low-sagging behaviour essential for reliable wall-thickness control. In addition, the extrusion process is said to be more energy-efficient than before.
