In a move it says underlines its long-term commitment to serving its UK customers, Sabic (Riyadh / Saudi Arabia; www.sabic.com) on 22 November opened a new state-of-the-art polyolefin logistics centre in Middlesbrough, Cleveland / UK. The Riyadh-based company says the centre’s fully scaleable design will allow it to meet all current and future demand for its polyolefin portfolio. Raf Bemelmans, European director for the Polymer Supply Chain, said the new facility supported the growing use of bulk polymer handling operations, in effect eliminating the need for manual interventions.

The new centre is operated by Swiss logistics specialist Bertschi (Dürrenäsch; www.bertschi.com), with whom Sabic already has a long-standing relationship.
