Plastics group adds PET extrusion lines
German plastics group Röchling (Mannheim; www.roechling.de) said it is investing around EUR 2m for new PET extrusion lines at its domestic facility in Lahnstein. Röchling had already expanded the existing production hall there by more than 3,000 m² and added new production facilities in 2019.

More than EUR 40m has been invested in the Lahnstein additions since 2010, according to Franz Lübbers, the Röchling board member responsible for the industrial division, which manufactures the company's “Sustadur” sliding, storage and guide elements made of PET. A new logistics centre was recently opened in Lahnstein, one of the division's 42 locations worldwide.

The various Sustadur materials, some of which are also approved for direct food contact, are sold as plates, round bars or processed finished parts. The company says the material suits application in rail technology, electronics, mechanical engineering, and the food and aviation industries.
