German specialist packaging company RPC Bramlage (Lohne; www.rpc-bramlage.de) is offering a technology to give unique decorative effects on the surface of plastic containers. The new structuring process can create a variety of tactile, patterned and textured finishes, such as leather, wood, stone and leaves. Not only can the technology reproduce the look of these elements, it can also replicate their touch and feel. RPC said the container requires no additional surface treatment or preparation.
In addition, in collaboration with a partner whose name was not revealed, RPC Bramlage has developed a process that combines in-mould labelling (IML) with the new surface-structuring, giving more opportunities for high-impact decoration.
RPC said the eye-catching effects guarantee unique branding and valuable on-shelf differentiation in competitive retail markets.
