New PA complex opened in South Korea
RhodiaEngineering Plastics (F-69192 Saint-Fons, Cedex; www.rhodia-ep.com) has inaugurated a new USD 16m state-of-the-art engineering plastics complex at Onsan, South Korea. The subsidiary of leading French chemical producer Rhodia (www.rhodia.com) said the investment reinforces its “already strong” commitment to the Korean and Asian markets. The unit, which will lift the French company´s PA capacity by 20%, is claimed to reflect “the latest advances in production technology.” It features a compounding plant using Rhodia´s new “Mega” process, a completely automated feeding system and a new automated packaging system. Products manufactured at the site wil be based on the company´s PA 6, PA 6.6, “Technyl Star” and “all other major thermoplastics.”
