Belgian PET preform and bottle manufacturer Resilux (Wetteren; www.resilux.com) acquired the PET recycling activities of Signode Industrial (Glenview, Illinois / USA; www.signodegroup.com) in Weinfelden / Switzerland on 1 October 2017, via Resilux's newly founded Swiss subsidiary Poly Recycling (Weinfelden). As part of the transaction, the Belgian company takes over all 35 employees and current contracts with customers and suppliers. Managing director Casper van den Dungen will be responsible for operational management.
The acquisition also sees a number of synergies for Resilux as well as expansion of its market position in PET recycling. The former Poly Recycling GmbH has been part of the Signode Industrial Group since July 2015. "We have been thinking about the future strategy of Poly Recycling for some time," says van den Dungen. "Accordingly, we have examined various options and have now reached a deal with our long-standing customer Resilux."
