When asked by Plasteurope.com about European production consolidation possibly involving capacity reductions, Claudio said, “No, it is not something we are looking at, at the moment.” He added, however, that the company was examining “all the possible options”.
The combination should benefit sourcing, he said, describing the enlarged business as “certainly more attractive for our suppliers on a global scale”.
In May this year, US financial investor Lone Star Funds (Dallas, Texas; www.lonestarfunds.com) announced the acquisition and subsequent merger of Radici with the engineered materials segment of Domo Chemicals (Ghent, Belgium; www.domochemicals.com).

In the accompanying presentation, Radici outlined a combined manufacturing footprint spanning eight countries and three continents, alongside complementary materials, application-development expertise, modelling, simulation, and testing capabilities.
Global application development marketing manager Erico Spini highlighted e-mobility, circular economy, and medical applications as development priorities. High-voltage offerings include orange-coloured polyamide compounds, flame-retardant grades for connectors and busbars, and speciality PPA materials. The company is also expanding its PBT portfolio.
Sustainability examples included mechanically recycled and bio-attributed polyamides. A Technyl for Earth application developed with Siemens offers a claimed 20% reduction in CO₂ footprint against the existing grade, while retaining colour-matching capability.
Spini also presented a closed-loop project with an unnamed German partner, using recovered end-of-life energy chains to produce new chains. He said the recycled material’s notched-impact performance was close to that of the virgin reference grade.
