The Engineering Plastic Products (www.quadrantepp.com) division of Swiss high performance polymer producer Quadrant (Zurich; www.quadrant.ch) on 8 June entered into a joint venture with Brazilian precision parts manufacturer Solidur Plasticos Industriais (Sao Paulo; www.solidur.com.br).

The jv will be operating under two separate units. While Solidur Plasticos Industriais will continue providing custom parts to equipment and system manufacturers, the newly established Quadrant do Brazil has been tasked with bringing Quadrant’s portfolio of advanced machinable materials to local plastics distributors and manufacturers. Each of the two companies will be led by a separate local management team, Quadrant said.

The Swiss producer also announced that it would immediately begin building up an inventory and establishing a service centre for local distributors.
