After having overseen the integration of custom compounder PTS (Tauberzell / Germany; www.pts-marketing.de) into Teknor Apex (Pawtucket, Rhode Island / USA; www.teknorapex.com) for the past five months (see Plasteurope.com of 05.04.2016), senior manager Walter Baumann has been appointed managing director of the German company. He succeeds Uwe Stenglin, who now serves as the principal consultant to Teknor Apex.

Commenting on the appointment, Teknor Apex senior vice president Suresh Swaminathan said, "This transition will enable Uwe to devote his time to working with Teknor Apex to cultivate technical innovations, train staff and customers, and ensure that the product and application successes of PTS are extended throughout our worldwide operation."

Prior to joining PTS, Baumann served in a number of senior positions in the plastics industry, including at Borealis and General Electric. He had been a senior manager at PTS – which specialises in both engineering thermoplastics and thermoplastic elastomers – since 2009.
