Russian polyurethane producer ProfHolod (Shyolkovo; www.profholod.com) has commissioned a 2,000 t/y production facility for polyester polyols in Shyolkovo as part of an effort to reduce its dependence on imported material and to guarantee quality. The facility was built by PU equipment producer and processing specialist H&S Anlagentechnik (Sulingen / Germany; www.hs-anlagentechnik.de) and uses an H&S glycolysis technology.

For the Russian company, which regards itself as a leading producer of insulated panels with “PIR Premier” fireproof polyisocyanurate and “PUR Classic” polyurethane foam cores, the plant is the second PU project it has realised with H&S. ln 2016, it commissioned а polyols blending plant supplied by the German company.

Danil Matasovis, head of ProfHolod’s polyols synthesis business, called the facility “more than just а геасtог, but one of the most advanced polyester polyols plants in the world.” With the help of the Н&S technical solutions team, he said the synthesis process could be fully automated to manufacture products that have reproducible quality and meet international standards.
