PROAMPAC
New name for merged flexible packagers Prolamina and Ampac
Two months after the merge of flexible packaging producers Prolamina (Westfield, Massachusetts / USA; www.prolamina.com) and Ampac (Cincinnati, Ohio / USA; www.ampaconline.com) – see Plasteurope.com of 25.08.2015 – the new industry giant has been renamed as ProAmpac (Cincinnati, Ohio / USA; www.proampac.com). The portfolio company of private equity firm Wellspring Capital Management (New York / USA; www.wellspringcapital.com) is headed by former Prolamina CEO Greg Tucker, and will have its headquarters in Ampac’s home city.
With a product offering said to be “unparalleled in the industry”, ProAmpac will operate as the corporate parent company of the four brand divisions Prolamina, Ampac, Tulsack and Business Deposits Plus. The combined expertise of these units extends to flexible packaging for the food, pet food and medical markets, secure packaging for cash management, loss prevention and valuables transportation as well as retail paper and shopping bags.
As part of the rebranding, Prolamina’s plant in Quebec / Canada will transition to Ampac – since its output aligns with the adhesive laminated rollstock and pouching produced by the latter.
