Integration of Findlay Europa in last quarter of 2004 / Plastic components for automotive uses
Polytec Group (A-4063 Hörsching; www.polytec-group.com), which supplies plastics components to the automotive industry, is moving closer to its declared goal of boosting sales to the billion-euro mark. Findlay Europa (D-82538 Geretsried), which was acquired in May 2004 by the group´s main investor, CapVis Equity (CH-8098 Zurich; www.capvis.com) – see PIE 13, 2004 – is to be integrated in Polytec Holding AG at the end of 2004 via an intermediate holding in Jersey.
The company, to be headed by Friedrich Huemer as CEO, will then be known as Polytec Interior. With 1,400 employees, it will have four sites in Germany (Ebersdorf, Geretsried, Nordhalben and Wackersdorf) as well as one each in Poland, Spain, the UK and South Africa. Some 60% of its sales of around EUR 240m will come from door liner systems, 24% from boot liners and 16% from seat covers. Main customers of the newly-configured Polytec group are Volkswagen and GM / Fiat, each of which accounts for 25% of business, followed by BMW (20%) and Ford (15%).
