POM and PBT producer Polyplastics (Tokyo / Japan; www.polyplastics.com) has launched two high-performance plastics. One is "Duranex 532AR", an anti-alkali PBT resin for automotive applications. The company says the resin is hydrolysis and heat resistant, in addition to having stress cracking resistance from alkaline substances, making it particularly suitable for use around the chassis section and inside the engine room of cars.

The company has also launched the "Duracon POM PM" series for drug contact and delivery applications in the medical industry. The first grade in the series, "Duracon POM PM09S01N", has global medical and food regulatory compliance, including ISO10993 and USP class VI biocompatibility/cytotoxicity, FDA as well as EU food-contact compliance.
