JV opens sales subsidiary in Mexico City / Supplying Japanese-linked customers in NAFTA
Polyplastics (Tokyo / Japan; www.polyplastics.com) has established a wholly owned sales subsidiary for its engineering plastics portfolio in Mexico City / Mexico. The joint venture of Daicel (Tokyo; www.daicel.com) and German-based engineering plastics producer Ticona, now trading under the name of its parent company, Celanese (Dallas, Texas; www.celanese.com) – see Plasteurope.com of 07.10.2013 – said the aim is to expand its reach to Japanese-affiliated companies based in North America.

Meanwhile, US subsidiary Polyplastics USA (Farmington Hills, Minnesota; http://polyus.polyplastics.com) is expanding its warehouse network, local inventory and order fulfilment functions.

The JV and its parent companies specialise in POM and PBT as well as polyphenylene sulphide (PPS), liquid crystal polymers (LCPs), glass fibre-reinforced PET (GF-PET), liquid crystal polymers (LCPs) and transparent resin cyclic olefin copolymer (COC).
