Voting opened 16 February and is set to run until 5 May 2026. All players from the European polymer industry are invited to take part.
According to Ron Marsh, chair of the alliance, the organisation was established in 2015 to address severe market instability, and continues to focus on securing a reliable and competitive polymer supply in Europe. He said the current priority is the long-term competitiveness and sustainability of European polymer production, amid concerns that rising energy costs, strict regulation, and underinvestment are contributing to a decline in domestic manufacturing. This trend, the alliance warns, could lead to greater reliance on imports, increased supply chain risks, and the relocation of converter capacity outside Europe.

Suppliers are to be assessed on delivery reliability, circularity, quality, communication, and innovation, with particular emphasis this year on their commitment to the European market. Criteria under this heading are to include willingness to invest in Europe, capacity modernisation, and supply security.
Participants are expected to be able to evaluate suppliers across 12 polymer categories, including polypropylene, HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, PET, PVC, polystyrene and EPS, polycarbonate, ABS, EVA, EVOH, and speciality polymers, using a multilingual online rating tool.
Awards are to be presented to top-rated suppliers in various categories, as well as a special distinction for overall commitment to the European market. The ceremony is to take place during the networking dinner at the annual meeting of European Plastics Converters in Brussels on 2 and 3 June 2026.
