The Polymers for Europe Alliance (www.polymercomplyeurope.eu/pce-services/polymers-europe-allliance) has launched this year’s voting round to find the best plastics suppliers in Europe. Like last year, the online survey is available free of charge to all polymer users in Europe that can rate their suppliers’ performance from mid-2016 until now. The survey, which is completely confidential, is open for three months until 15 May 2017.

Chairman of the Polymers for Europe Alliance, Ron Marsh, is expecting a large number of European polymer users to take part in this second annual poll, given the success of its launch in 2016 – see Plasteurope.com of 25.02.2016. “The reason is that these awards clearly represent a major opportunity for re-establishing a constructive dialogue and a good communication between suppliers and users of polymers in Europe,” he said. Last year, Spanish petrochemicals and plastics producer Repsol (Madrid; www.repsol.com) was the winner in the HDPE and Innovation categories (see Plasteurope.com of 09.06.2016).

After accessing the rating tool, companies choose their two best suppliers in each of the eight different polymer categories – HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, PC, PET, PP, PS and PVC – then rate them according to the following five criteria: delivery reliability, polymer quality, regulatory compliance, communication and innovation. An overarching award on delivery reliability, covering all polymer types, will also be given.

The winners of the "Best Polymer Producers Awards for Europe" will be announced at a ceremony during the gala dinner of the European Plastics Converters’ (EuPC, Brussels / Belgium; www.plasticsconverters.eu) annual meeting in Madrid / Spain on 1 June 2017.
