New PP three-layer pipe / Sales of DEM 65m
Poloplast Kunststoffwerk GmbH & Co KG (PO Box 1, A-4060 Leonding) recently presented its new “Polo-Eco plus” three-layer pipe, describing it as the “sewage pipe of the future”. The facing and inside layer are made of PP, while the middle load-bearing layer is made of a PP compound reinforced with magnesium silicate. The resultant properties make it the ideal candidate for use as a substitute material, especially in sewage pipeline construction, says Poloplast. “Polo-Eco plus” is noted above all for its high level of toughness, impact and abrasion resistance, temperature stability and resistance to aggressive effluents. The company manufactures plastic pipes and fittings. One of its specialities are polypropylene domestic drainage pipes with a three-layer structure, marketed under the name “Polo-Kal”. Poloplast has a workforce of 200 and sales amounting to ATS 460m (DEM 65.4m). The recently established subsidiary, Polo Engineering Gesellschaft mbH, will offer the company´s know-how on products and processes in the field of pipeline construction to interested pipe producers.
