Turkish film manufacturer acquires M&G subsidiary Nuroll / BOPET film capacity expanded
In a deal whose financial details were not disclosed, Polinas Plastik (Manisa / Turkey; www.polinas.com.tr) has acquired BOPET film manufacturer Nuroll spa (Pignataro Maggiore / Italy). Signed in January 2011, the transaction between Polinas and Nuroll holding company Mossi & Ghisolfi (M&G Group, Tortona / Italy; www.gruppomg.com) is expected to close by July. The two companies apparently had been preparing the deal for the past year.

Following the acquisition, Polinas’ portfolio – currently limited to 100,000 t/y of BOPP film – will be complemented by Nuroll’s 18,000 t/y film extrusion and coating plant. “That is tantamount to a 15% market share in Europe”, Turkish media cite Cahit Paksoy of the Yildiz Holding Company. Paksoy heads the packaging business of Yildiz-affiliated foodstuffs producer Ülker.
