Montedison: New biomaterial for films
Montedison (Deutschland) GmbH (D-65760 Eschborn) will market a new biodegradable material for blown film extrusion developed by Italy's Novamont SpA. According to the companies, the greatest advantages of the "Mater-BI" material (type ZFO3U/A) lie in its mechanical properties as well as in the extrusion technology, which allows wall thickness to be decreased from 25 my to 20 my. As with its predecessors, temperatures below 0 °C and relative humdity of 5% are no problem.
