Alcatel´s cables business renamed Nexans
A large segment of the Alcatel cables and components business will do business in future under the Nexans name. One of the three leading companies in the worldwide cable industry, Nexans plans to merge its energy, telecommunications and wire activities. For 2000, the new group with 18,500 employees in 20 countries can expect sales of EUR 4.6 bn.
