New quality label for handwrap stretch films
Eight European producers of handwrap stretch polyethylene films for industrial use have joined together under the auspices of PlastEuroFilm (65 rue de Prony, F-75854 Paris Cedex 17), to launch "EuroStretch", the first European quality label in the packaging field. The "EuroStretch" label will guarantee to the end user strict adherence to specific dimensions stipulated for handwrap stretch film reels. Reels will have to comply to a minimum length, width and thickness.
PlastEuroFilm estimates the market for handwrap stretch film in Europe as 150,000 t with about 90% of this going into palletisation wrapping.
The use of the "EuroStretch" label is open to any company ready to comply to the regulations. The first eight companies complying from 1st September 1996 are:
Borden Nederland / PFI Division (NL-Apeldoorn); Brithene Films (GB-Bridgwater); DRG Plastic Films GmbH (D-Affalterbach); Manuli Stretch Group (I-Milan); Prosyn Polyane (F-St Chamond); Silvalac SA (E-Monjos del Penedes); Unterland (A-Kufstein).
