PLASTIC FANTASTIC
What's in a name?

We’re betting when Plasteurope.com readers lay eyes on the acronym EuRIC, they’ll immediately think of the organisation that represents the interests of Europe’s recycling operations. In its own words, the European Recycling Industries’ Confederation is “the leading voice for a competitive European recycling industry, enabling the circular economy and preserving resources for future generations”.
All good stuff, we’ll agree. However, Plasteurope.com subscribers who also happen to be keen history buffs may know of another Euric.

Back in 5th century Europe, a king by the name of Euric ruled the Visigothic Kingdom, effectively what is now south-west France and a significant chunk of Spain. An ambitious chap, Euric in 466 knocked off his brother, King Theodoric II, to take the throne, a position he held until his death from natural causes in 484, at the age of 64.
So, EuRIC or Euric. You pays your money, you takes your choice.
