PLASTIC FANTASTIC
The curse of the good deed
The world is unfair. The latest example to support this thesis comes from Hasbro. The world's second largest toy manufacturer announced a while ago that it would discontinue the use of plastic for the packaging of its toys towards the end of 2022.

The US company has now backtracked on its decision. Why? Because the change didn’t quite sit right with customers. Sales figures have virtually collapsed, the company says, after the packaging was changed to cardboard lids without viewing windows made of plastic.

Many hardcore collectors have complained that they can no longer “examine” the figures at the stores. Some people have even stolen small parts from the cardboard packaging! And so, we learn once again: without support from the customers, every good deed falls flat.
