PLASTIC FANTASTIC
Magical adventures in the great unknown
The hero we all need and few deserve – a unicorn float (Photo: Panthermedia/phototime)
Or at least that’s what it must have felt like for the young girl who was swept out onto the Mediterranean Sea in Greece. The parents didn’t notice until she was too far out to get from the land – they immediately contacted the coast guard, who contacted a ferry making its journey nearby. The captain was happy to make the detour.

Videos of the event show the ferry closing in on a white speck in the distance that slowly turns into a giant floating unicorn, on which is seated a frightened young girl holding tight to the neck of the magical creature. She was returned – completely unharmed – to her parents and is now one of the few people who can truthfully say that a unicorn once saved their life.
