PLASTIC FANTASTIC
La vie est belle
Venice has its water taxis, and Paris has its bubble boats. Riding on the Seine can be done in style with Seabubbles' electric taxi boats. As the company says, "think James Bond car, available for everybody, but with zero wave, zero noise, zero CO2 emission." The hope is to alleviate pollution and traffic jams, first in Paris and then in other cities around the world.

The 5-metre long taxis are electric hydrofoil craft, which can carry up to four passengers and one pilot, and travel as fast as 15 knots (25 km/h) – maybe faster than the speed of a car in city traffic on a Monday. Made from carbon fibre, epoxy resin and PMMA, the boats also have leather seats to provide some luxury while riding the waterways.
