PLASTIC FANTASTIC
A more plastic way of prophesying
Planet constellations, palm lines, coins, cards, the casting of lead, feathers and bones – there are more or less esoteric ways of predicting the future. A rather fun way is utilising coffee grounds for precise fortune-telling, as it usually includes the consumption of the said hot beverage. Was a sudden need for caffeine the inspiration to researchers at the Institute for Bio plastics and Bio composites in Hanover / Germany to develop a “coffee-ground composite material”? It promises to combine coffee grounds of different origins and qualities into a high-end fill or colouring-agent for bio-polymers.

With coffee grounds being severely misused, the next star on the sky of clairvoyants will most likely specialise in tossing plastic granules – “Oh no, the grey PE lies in spheric opposition to the red PU, something bad will happen soon!”
