PLASTIC FANTASTIC
When meds become a feast for the nose
Anyone with kids or pets knows the myriad of tricks by means of which medicine can be taken. Popular choices include hiding the meds inside a sausage or among a few jelly bellies. While sugar-coating may make pills less bitter to swallow for some, the smell of herbal supplements or fish oil tablets can still be off-putting. But fear not: A solution is already at hand. To address the olfactory shortcomings of certain medicines, a Swiss plastics producer is now offering aroma-scented pill containers that smell fishy no more, and induce the patient to simply follow his or her nose to the good stuff.

Available scents include vanilla, orange and lemon, and marketing experts are already contemplating the addition of a free aromatherapy massage. With such an amazing package deal, what’s left to feel sick about?
