PLASTIC FANTASTIC
The mysterious case of Switzerland's plastic sausage tree
The disappearance of a 2m plastic sausage kept the police in the Swiss city of Hünenberg busy in late July. The hot dog had been removed from outside a butcher’s shop and was nowhere to be found. A few days later, however, a women strolling through the forest was amazed to find a sausage tree stem off the pathway.

Police are now looking for the burglars by means of evidence left at the scene. Their search will be aided by the fact that the thieves did not employ salami tactics – the sausage is still intact and has meanwhile been returned to its rightful owner.
