President and CEO Bill Carteaux passes away
The president and CEO of the Plastics Industry Association (Plastics, Washington, D.C. / USA;, Bill Carteaux, passed away on 10 December 2018 at the age of 59 due to complications from acute myeloid leukaemia.

He had been head of the US industry association since February 2005. Previously, he worked in the plastics industry for around 20 years. He was CEO at the Demag Plastics Group when he joined Plastics. Prior to that, he had spent eight years as president of Autojectors, a manufacturer of vertical injection moulding machines.

Carteaux was also a member of the board of directors of the Plastics Academy, the National Plastics Center and Museum, the Future of Plastics Foundation and the SPE Foundation. In 2015, he was the youngest person to be inducted into the "Plastics Industry Hall of Fame". He was treated for leukaemia in 2016 and then became corporate chair of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 2017 "Capital Area Light the Night" events.
