Russian missiles destroy Ukraine plant / Reconstruction announced
War is raging in Ukraine and is hurting plastics processors based in the country: Polish manufacturer of plastic packaging Plast-Box (Slupsk; www.opakowania.plast-box.com) has announced that the production hall, warehouse, and offices at its plant in Chernihiv, Ukraine, about 80 km north of Kyiv, have been destroyed by Russian missiles. The extent of the damage remains unknown due to ongoing hostilities.

The Ukrainian production site is located in an area directly exposed to the Russian army’s advance on Ukrainian capital. It came under missile fire over the weekend of 19-20 March. Plast-Box boss Grzegorz Pawlak said his company plans to rebuild the factory, adding that his Plast-Box would be involved in rebuilding the economy in Ukraine after the war.

Plast-Box opened the facility, its second production plant, in September 2011 (see Plasteurope.com of 27.09.2011). The main plant is located in Slupski in northern Poland.
