BASF acquires ExxonMobil's polyisobutylene business
BASF (www.basf.com) has acquired ExxonMobil Chemical's medium molecular polyisobutylene business. No manufacturing sites or personnel are included in this purchase. Terms of the acquisition are not being disclosed. Besides their use as a chewing gum component, medium molecular polyisobutylenes are employed in the production of adhesives, sealants, lubricants and clear food wraps.
