Uponor selling US gas pipes business
In a deal set to close at the end of September, Finnish plastic pipes manufacturer Uponor (www.uponor.com), Vantaa, is selling its 100% US subsidiary Uponor Aldyl Company (UAC), an extruder of gas pipe and fittings systems for the utility sector, for USD 15m (EUR 12.5m) to PW Poly, a subsidiary of PW Eagle (www.pweagleinc.com), based at Hastings, Nebraska. With production at Tulsa and Shawnee, Oklahoma, Aldyl last reported net sales exceeding USD 40m (EUR 36m). The merged businesses will be known as US Poly Company. Last year, the Finnish group sold its gas utility pipe subsidiary Uponor ETI to PW Eagle.
