Atofina soon to be called Arkema
Following the stock split planned by parent company Total in 2006, French chemical group Atofina (www.atofina.com), Paris, will undergo another name change as well as change of ownership. In future the company, which will include chlorochemicals and PVC, performance products (PA 11 and PA 12) and industrial chemicals/PMMA, will be known as Arkema. To be run by Thierry LeHenaff as CEO, Arkema will have overall sales of around EUR 5 bn and employ more than 19,000 people. The separated-out petrochemicals activities will belong directly to Total.
