ExxonMobil expands film metallisation in Italy
ExxonMobil Chemical Films (www.oppfilms.com), Machelen / Belgium, the European films subsidiary of ExxonMobil Chemical, is installing two new metallisation lines for oriented polypropylene (OPP) films at Brindisi / Italy. The first line will start up in the first quarter of 2005. The US group said a second line will begin producing "a few months later." The added capacity will provide more flexibility to respond to growing market demand for thin barrier films and flexible packaging, said Carlo Ranucci, general manager at ExxonMobil Chemical Films Europe.
