PERSTORP
Collaboration on development of PU sports flooring
Swedish speciality chemicals producer Perstorp (Perstorp; www.perstorp.com) has cooperated with sports flooring manufacturer Herculan (Meerkerk / The Netherlands; www.herculan.com) on the development of high performance polyurethane sports flooring. The material provides advantages in processability due to its low viscosity and low tendency to crystallise. It also increases overall mechanical performance with improved abrasion resistance, ball bouncing ability and shock absorption, the company said.
Michael Kissel, Herculan’s research and development manager, said: “Developing customer products with raw materials having these mechanical properties is a pleasure – and beyond that enables us to use, manufacture and deliver products that won’t have a tendency to crystallise.”
