A year after the merger of Perlon Nextrusion Monofil (Bobingen / Germany; www.perlonnextrusion.de) and Hahl-Pedex (Munderkingen / Germany; www.hahl-pedex.com) into the Perlon Group (www.perlon.com), the synthetic filaments manufacturer is implementing its expansion strategy.
At the beginning of 2017, the signing ceremony for the new building construction took place in the presence of Perlon Group's top management team, at the production site in Haining City / China. The commissioning of this project is important because the capacities in Haining no longer suffice. Therefore, a new administration building and a production hall are planned for the manufacturing of filaments for PMC (paper machine clothing) use in the Asian market, and other products in their portfolio.
The company is also expanding production in the US. A new 650 m2 warehouse for finished products is to be constructed on the company site in Lexington, South Carolina, which will provide the required space in the production hall for synthetic filaments. The old production hall will be converted to no longer serve as storage space, and will only be for manufacture. An additional manufacturing system is also on its way to the US. These measures contribute to the expansion of their product portfolio to include monofilaments for PMC use. The completion and commissioning of the warehouse is a top priority and is scheduled for May 2017.
Perlon’s managing director Florian Kisling said: “Our business, especially in the PMC segment, is very international. That is why we are continuing the internationalisation of our company.”
Perlon, a member of the Serafin group of diversified companies (Munich / Germany; www.serafin-gruppe.de), generates annual sales of more than EUR 125m and employs more than 750 people. The company operates from seven locations in Germany, the US, China and South Korea.
