Nova Chemicals (Calgary, Alberta / Canada; www.novachem.com) has promoted Chris Bezaire to the new role of senior vice president for PE, where he will be responsible for the financial performance of the PE business. In related moves, John Hotz was named VP, corporate strategy and John Siegrist was named VP, sales.
In his new position, Hotz will oversee Nova Chemicals’ corporate development strategy, including initiatives in its olefins and PE businesses. The company said he will help the executive team shape the company’s future under the ownership of International Petrochemical Investment Company (IPIC, Abu Dhabi / United Arab Emirates; www.ipic.ae). IPIC acquired Nova in 2009 – see Plasteurope.com of 09.07.2009.
Siegrist will continue to be responsible for Nova Chemicals’ North American PE sales, and will now also oversee export sales and customer services. The appointments follow the announcement last month that Khadem Al Qubaisi, managing director of IPIC, will become chairman of Nova Chemicals’ board of directors.
