Compounder expands production capacity, moves into new building

German compounder and recyclate manufacturer Pal Plast (Mühlheim; www.palplast.de) has fully moved into its new P2 plant at Mühlheim. Around 20 employees have moved into the administration area on the second floor of the building, said owner and managing director Josef Wirnik.
Additionally, there are 35 employees in production, which is located on the ground floor and went into operation some time ago.

The company did not provide information on the investment costs for the new building. The P2 plant is located around 750 m from the headquarters.
Plastics processing for recycling and parts of production and compounding remain at the P1 plant at Lämmerspieler Straße, added Wirnik. According to him, the new production facilities at P2 can produce more complex plastic mixtures with varied components.

In addition, the automatic data exchange between the machines enables the traceability of every batch produced. However, the company did not provide specific information on the expansion of compounding capacity.

“We feel closely connected to the Mühlheim site and the Rhine-Main region,” said Amit Wirnik, son of Josef Wirnik and co-managing director. The expansion should therefore also be seen as a “contribution to the economic strength and attractiveness of the region”.
Pal Plast was founded in 1985 and specialises in compounding engineering thermoplastics.
