Takeover of Rowland Technologies in the US
Films company Orafol Europe (Oranienburg / Germany; www.orafol.com) has acquired US-based Rowland Technologies (Wallingford, Connecticut; www.rowtec.com), one of its major suppliers. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Rowland Technologies is a speciality manufacturer of high-quality plastic films and sheeting, with a unique extrusion process and proprietary in-house tooling techniques. The company’s portfolio includes “RowTec” PC film, “SolaTuf” impact-modified acrylic film and “Rowlux” illusion film, which have a variety of uses, including graphic arts materials, medical packaging, aerospace applications and automotive parts.

Stephen DiMugno, president and CEO of Rowland Technologies, expressed his confidence that Rowland’s unique capabilities and products would complement the Orafol group’s vast global presence. The US company will continue trading as Rowland Technologies.

Earlier this month, Orafol Australia acquired several graphic products distributors with locations in Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide, significantly boosting its presence in the domestic reflective and graphic markets.
