Speciality chemicals distributor expands TPU distribution partnership with BASF
— By Plasteurope.com staff —

German chemical giant BASF (Ludwigshafen; www.basf.com) and Omya Performance Polymer Distribution (Oftringen, Switzerland; www.omya.com) announced that they have expanded their long-standing partnership for Elastollan thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), with Omya appointed as the mutually exclusive distribution partner across several additional regions.

The new agreement, effective from 1 July 2026, covers France, Switzerland, North Africa, Israel, and the Middle East. It builds on Omya’s existing Elastollan TPU business in the UK and Ireland, which is managed through Distrupol, part of Omya.

The companies said the expansion supports Omya’s strategy to strengthen its presence in high-performance polymers and enhance its regional offering. Elastollan is used in applications including automotive components, industrial parts, consumer goods, and electrical applications, due to its toughness, durability, and processing versatility.
